Disasters for Piano

vooriel I read "Master and Margarita" to prepare for literature exam. Cold breeze runs through my hair, hot under cloudless blue skyes. The playground just as empty, and the new building is slowly - brick by brick - rising before me. It's only half-way finished, just like I am finished with the book. What a good day that was. Favorite track: Somewhere, our limbs lost in the distance.

access_hologram Beautiful Piano transcriptions for one of my favorite modern composers! They sometimes stray far from the source material but in the best way possible, creating something entirely new and perfectly fit for the instrument. Favorite track: Prologue.

about

One day I saw an Instagram video of someone performing a short snippet of 'Forgotten' from FEZ on piano: www.instagram.com/p/sga0AmD-_j/

I was really taken by David's style, watched all of his Instagram clips and reached out to complement him and see if he might want to work on a piano arrangement. What followed was a long and fruitful collaboration - an open invitation for David to explore my catalogue and tackle what he liked, and a whole lot of back and forth as we refined and honed in on an eclectic set of piano arrangements.

After recording with the exceptionally talented pianist Augustine Mayuga Gonzales, I wanted to find a unique sonic treatment for the record. Typically concert piano albums are kept bare, but I thought it would be interesting to delve into production experiments, so I reached out to my longtime colleague Matt Powell to mix and help produce the record.

We think the result is a uniquely fun piano album, and we hope you enjoy it!
